  Poverty is a major challenge in India. Statistics show that more than two-thirds of our population live in poverty. 68.8% of the Indian population lives on less than Rs. 150 a day. Over 30% even have less than Rs. 100 per day available. Poor children and women, the weakest members of Indian society, suffer the most.
